During DJ Premier’s broadcast of Live from HQ this week, he informs listeners that the father of hip-hop, DJ Kool Herc, is currently hospitalized.“Kool Herc is very sick…Kool Herc is not doing well,” explained DJ Premier. “It’s funny how we actually have a father of a culture [who] still lives, where in some cultures, they’re already dead and gone…”
“Since he’s very sick and has no insurance, uses a metro card to get around, needs to pay his bills so he can get out of the hospital, it’s ill… If you don’t know about it, now you know about it. …We spoke today, and he needs some help to pay his bills for the hospital because he can’t hold it down. And being that he is the man who set this whole culture off, ya’ll should be wanting to do it any type of way that you can. People know how to reach us.”

DR. DRE ORCHESTRATES GAME’S COLLABORATION WITH ASHANTI

Game dug into his rap Rolodex for his latest mixtape Purp & Patron, roping in production from Dr. Dre, RZA, and Pharrell, with guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Fabolous. But when it came to working with Ashanti on the gushy “Soft Rhodes,” he got some help from the man behind the boards. While in the studio with the Compton rapper, Dr. Dre asked him if he had ever collaborated with the former Murder Inc. princess, and if there was anything keeping him from hopping on a song with her. “We were in the studio. Dre asked me if I had any drama with Ashanti, and I was like, ‘Nah.’ He was like, ‘You worked with her?’ And I was like, ‘Nah,’” Game told Rap-Up.com. “He was like, ‘You mind working with her?’ I was like, ‘Nope.’ He called her up and she came through and we did that.”The Dre-produced cut, which boasts a soothing beat and catchy hook, sees each artist tackling the touchy issue of hooking up with an ex. “Just ’cause we break up don’t mean it’s over/ When I call, you comin’ over/ To get this here like I told ya/ I’ma get it every time I want it,” sings Ashanti.Game is currently assembling the leftover tracks from his Purp & Patronsessions for another mixtape, The Hangover, scheduled to drop Monday.

Bow wow "6 Foot 7 Foot" Freestyle

Bow Wow stands up tall on his freestyle over Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot,” releasing an accompanying video directed by Rico Da Crook. As lights flash across the studio, the Cash Money rapper spits in front of a mixing board, touting the message “Allergic to Bullshit” on his hoodie and rhyming about advice from Tha Doggfather.

“Snoop always told me lil’ cuz, do your thing/ Stay consistent with the flow/ You’ll be a legend in the game/ Yeah, that’s YMCM, packin’ all the freaks in,” he boasts.

Is Nicki Minaj's Ass Real? Not Even Lil Wayne Knows [Video]

Is Nicki Minaj's larger than life ass real, or has it been surgically enhanced?
That's a question many fans want the answer to, but will probably never get. One thing is for sure, her boss, Lil Wayne doesn't know, or at least he says he doesn't.
HollywoodTV caught up with Weezy as he was leaving Philippe's restaurant in L.A. When asked if the "Moment For Life" rapper's butt was real Wayne laughed and shrugged his shoulders as if to say, "I don't know."
When asked again, Wayne said, "I don't know... it's real nice I know that."

CHRIS BROWN ASKS JUDGE TO REMOVE RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST RIHANNA

Nearly two years after his assault on Rihanna, Chris Brown appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom Friday (Jan. 28) for a progress report where his attorney requested the removal of the restraining order against his client.

The “Yeah 3X” singer, dressed in a shawl sweater, button-up shirt, and tie, sat before Judge Patricia Schnegg with his lawyer Mark Geragos. After telling the judge that his client had completed his 52-week domestic violence counseling, Geragos asked that she remove the existing restraining order against Brown, reports RadarOnline.com.

“It makes it difficult at award shows and such,” said Geragos.

Before the request can be granted, Rihanna’s attorney must approve of the modification from a “stay away” order to a “do not annoy.” Brown is scheduled to remain on probation until 2014.

Despite his three nominations, the 21-year-old star’s rep recently told the AP that he was not currently scheduled to attend next month’s Grammy Awards.

DRAKE WILL BECOME A RUDE BOY, "I WANT TO DO SOMETHING FOR JAMAICA"

In a fairly short amount of time Toronto native Drake has become a very respected rapper/singer, but is the world ready for Drizzy the Reggae artist?

The Young Money rapper might be dropping some tunes over Jamaican influenced sounds very soon.

In an interview with MuchMusic Drake revealed his plans.

"I wanna do something for Jamaica, because we are supposed to go out there and record after the European tour. I was like send me some rhythms that are poppin and I'll see what I can do. He sent me some rhythms that are poppin, so I'll see what I can do. You never know." he said.

Drake is currently touring Europe with Roc Nation artist J. Cole. He was intially scheduled to tour the UK last summer but cancelled due to his mother falling ill. Once the tour wraps he'll head to Jamaica to record.

In addition to a possible Reggae cd, Drizzy is working on a follow up to his platinum debut disc 'Thank Me Later.'

Do you think Drake can pull off a successful reggae disc?

A snippet of her response, “Christmas Massacre,” has hit the web, touting anintroduction from “Jingle Bell Rock” before giving way to some harsh words for her longtime rival, the Queen Bee. “That bullshit ‘Black Friday’ shit was garbage/ How the f–k you love B.I.G. and shit on Ms. Wallace?” taunts Brooklyn’s Don Diva. Listen to her fighting words in the preview below.

CHRIS BROWN SHOWS OFF HIS ARTWORK

Chris Brown has been spending time in a different kind of studio working on his other passion—art. Breezy joined creative forces with Australian artist Kid Zoom, taking to Twitter to show off some of their colorful collaborations, including a graffitied skull backdrop and an image of Chris’ tatted arm holding a machete covered in red paint.

“I fell in love with art around the age of six. I always took pride in kind of winning the coloring contests in school,” explained the R&B singer. “Art was my only outlet. Aside from music, art is the thing that I like to escape. And I appreciate other artists who have that talent and that eye for detail and eye for their own imagination. Art is a part of my life and it influences me completely.”

Dancehall Artist Vybz Kartel Compares Skin Bleaching To Tanning

NecoleBitchie reports:

Retired baseball player Sammy Sosa isn’t the only celebrity that has been dipping his hand in the skin bleaching jar. According to Rolling Out Magazine, Jamaican dancehall artist Vybz Kartel has bleached his skin in an attempt to change his image.

Reggae artist Vybz Kartel hates himself, but it’s not his fault. The dancehall musician lightened his skin and has experienced a backlash from fans who are appalled by his physical changes. In a recent interview, Kartel linked blacks who lighten their skin to white people who tan.

“This is my new image,” Kartel said in the interview. “You can expect the unexpected. I feel comfortable with black people lightening their skin. They want a different look. It’s tantamount to white people getting a sun tan.”

Kartell is endorsing his own brand of cake soap and claims that the soap lightens his skin. However, Bounty Killer countered by saying that his mother has used cake soap and it has yet to bleach her skin. Bounty Killer believes that Kartel is using something stronger to lighten his skin.

Lil Wayne Wanted "Look At Me Now" For 'Tha Carter IV', But W/Out Chris Brown Rapping On It "U Know How Many Rappers Would Be Like 'I Can't Get On C4 B

Chris Brown is stepping his rap game up as evidenced by the "Green Goblin" track where he goes toe to toe with Jae Millz. Still, not everybody is quite ready to let him spit with the big dogs.

Take his recent collaboration with Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes "Look At Me Now" for instance. Weezy was feeling the track so much he wanted it for his upcoming 'Carter IV' album, but he wasn't about to let Chris rap on the album according to Rolling Stone via Rap-Up.

“He ain’t sound bad. He’s spitting. But come on, man! Do you know how many rappers would be like, ‘I can’t get on Tha Carter IV, but this ni**a put Chris Brown on that b****? Rapping?” Wayne said. “You can’t take a ni**a’s song and take him off of it. That’s saying a whole lot. That’s like telling him, ‘I think this s*** is hotter without you,’” I would feel played if a ni**a did me that way.”

So instead of a C4 track "Look At Me Now" is the latest single from Breezy's upcoming "F.A.M.E." album.

Nicki Minaj feat. Lil Wayne - Roman's Revenge 2.0

Nicki Minaj ft Lil Wayne – Roman’s Revenge 2.0 Lyrics

[Nicki Minaj]

[Nicki Minaj]
I am not Jasmine, I am Aladdin
so far ahead, these bums is lagging
see me in that new thing, bums is gagging
I’m starting to feel like a dungeon dragon
rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
I’m starting to feel like a dungeon dragon
look at my show footage, how these girls be spazzing
so f-ck I look like getting back to a has-been
yeah, I said it, has-been
hang it up, flatscreen, haha, plasma
hey Nicki, hey Nicki, asthma
I got the pumps, it ain’t got medicine
I got bars, sentencing
I’m a bad bitch, I’m a cunt
and I’ll kick that hoe, punt
forced trauma, blunt
you play the back, bitch, I’m in the front
you need a job, this ain’t cutting it
Nicki Minaj is who you ain’t f-cking with
You li’l brag a lot, I beat you with a pad-a-lock
I am a movie, camera block
you outta work, I know it’s tough
but enough is enough

[Chorus]
Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Like a dungeon dragon, like a dungeon dragon

Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Like a dungeon dragon, like a dungeon dragon

[Lil Wayne]
I eat your face off
You n-ggas sweet as pie like this is a bake off
I love Nicki’s curves, swing at the baseball
I beat your brakes off
H-H-Hi, I’m Tune’, salt in the wound
I’m up in this bitch, pardon the goons
Throw dirt on the floor and get caught in the broom
I like a big wet p-ssy with a fork and a spoon
I got money and the power
a woman in the shower
And she don’t want nothin’ but my johnson, Howard
Sour D’s and a swisher sweet, sweet and sour
You scared? Go to church, say your prayers, read a Bible
Huh, I don’t know what y’all on
Please, I go in like goin’
Drink drink in my hand with the world in the other
The uzi go brrrrrrr, stutter
Ha, life is a puzzle, jigsaw
All I do is win, my name should be Victor
Old-ass rappers, I’m still the shit, old-ass Pampers
Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Foie gras, I hear you ducks is quackin’
I’m just pluckin’ my ashes, I’ma puff it and pass it
I’m a f-ckin’ assassin, you should jump in a casket

Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Like a dungeon dragon, like a dungeon dragon

Rah, rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Rah, rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Rah, rah, rah, like a dungeon dragon
Like a dungeon dragon, like a dungeon dragon

[Nicki Minaj]

(I-I-I-I-Is) Is this the thanks that I get for putting you bitches on?
is it my fault that all of you bitches gone?
shoulda sent a thank you note, you little ho
now I’ma wrap your coffin with a bow
“N-N-N-Nicki, she’s just mad ’cause you took the spot”
word, that bitch mad ’cause I took the spot?
Well, bitch, if you ain’t sh-tting, then get off the pot
Got some n-ggas out in Brooklyn that’ll off your top
I-I-I-I hear them mumbling, I hear the cackling
I got ‘em scared, shook, panicking
overseas, church, Vatican
you at a stand, still, mannequin
you wanna sleep on me? Overnight?
I’m the motherf-cking boss, overwrite
and when I pull up, vroom, motorbike
now all my n-ggas gettin’ bucked, overbite
I see them dusty-ass Filas, Levi’s
raggedy-ass, holes in your knee-highs
I call the play, now do you see why?

(Manning, Eli!)
Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-Manning, Eli
These bitches calling me (Manning, Eli)
